Program description


The nursing program is designed in accordance with quality standards and academic accreditation to prepare leading health cadres distinguished by high intellectual, professional and research skills and to provide an academic and administrative environment that motivates learning, production and creativity to provide preventive and curative nursing care for patients and enhance the health of the individual, family and society.

The program focuses on the practical application of theoretical concepts through integrated laboratories equipped with the latest equipment, tools and dolls necessary to train students on the basic and advanced skills of the program.

The program provides students with comprehensive knowledge and professional skills necessary in all nursing specialties, as follows:

obstetrics and gynecology nursing - operating rooms - oncology - critical care - community health - emergencies - surgery and internal medicine - Pediatrics - quality assurance - infection control.

Duration of study


The duration of study in the nursing program is five years for high school students. In the first preparatory year, students study English language and basic science courses, then, they begin studying the specialization from the beginning of the second year until the end of the fourth year, followed by the fifth year, the internship stage.

  • As for bridging students, the diploma certificate is equated and the student studies at the college for four to five semesters, followed by the internship stage, which lasts for 8 months.

Acquired skills


  • Scientific medical and nursing knowledge that qualifies the graduate to deal with all medical cases and meet the needs of patients
  • Effective communication skills with patients and work teams.
  • Evaluation, planning, and decision-making regarding priority intervention for medical cases.
  • Knowledge of dealing with medical devices (diagnostic, therapeutic and auxiliary).
  • The necessary clinical practice in accordance with the highest professional standards that ensure effective and safe clinical nursing practice.

Clinical training


Training students represents a fundamental pillar in the standards of Al-Ghad College of Applied Medical Sciences in Riyadh to achieve and complete the educational, training and academic process to qualify students to obtain the appropriate job position and link them through training paths to the labor market under the supervision of specialists in this field, in addition to signing partnership agreements with distinguished hospitals and health centers.

The training unit is responsible for supervising the training of students and it seeks to provide appropriate training places that are consistent with academic and clinical standards during study and the internship phase. Contracts have been made with a number of distinguished governmental and private hospitals and medical centers.
