Program description
The emergency medicine program was designed in accordance with quality standards and academic accreditation to prepare leading health cadres distinguished by high intellectual, professional and research skills and to provide an academic and administrative environment stimulating for learning, production and creativity.
The program focuses on the practical application of theoretical concepts through integrated laboratories equipped with the latest equipment, tools and dolls necessary to train students on the basic and advanced skills of the program, which are equipped with a simulation system. The laboratories were also provided with ambulances equipped for training on dealing with cases of injuries resulting from road accidents and medical emergencies in a pre-hospital environment.
The program provides students with the necessary knowledge, professional skills, and values that include: patient assessment, ambulance operations, accident and injury emergency, pre-hospital care, obstetrics and gynecology emergency, geriatric emergency, advanced airway treatment, cardiac emergency, and pediatric first aid. It acts as an integral member of the health care team to help victims of crises and disasters.

Duration of study
The duration of study for the emergency medicine program is five years for high school students. In the first preparatory year, students study English and basic science courses, then, they begin studying the specialty from the beginning of the second year until the end of the fourth year, followed by the fifth year which is the internship stage.
- As for master students, the diploma certificate is equated and the student studies at the college for four to five semesters, followed by the internship stage, which lasts 8 months.

- Basic medical knowledge of personal safety procedures and legal matters that have an impact on decisions in the pre-hospital environment.
- Skills in taking a patient’s medical history and medical examination techniques.
- The skill of patient assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision making.
- Effective communication, documentation of patient care, and problem solving.
- Safe ground and air medical transportation and evacuation.
- Advanced cardiac resuscitation to ensure the quality of care provided to critically injured patients in the event of cardiac arrest and other cardiac emergencies.
Clinical training
Training students represents a fundamental pillar in the standards of Al-Ghad College of Applied Medical Sciences in Riyadh to achieve and complete the educational, training and academic processes aim to qualify students for suitable job positions, connecting them to the labor market through specialized supervision, in addition to signing partnership agreements with distinguished hospitals and health centers.
The training unit is responsible for supervising the training students and seeking to provide appropriate training places that are consistent with academic and clinical standards during study and the internship phase. Contracts have been concluded with a number of distinguished governmental and private hospitals and medical centers.
